Here is what I want you to do, give me an object, a physical attribute or item of clothing and either a verb or an adjective. I will write you a drabble (story in 100 words) containing each of these three things. I will post each drabble as a full journal post.

His strength gave out and he collapsed to the ground, both cloak and mahogany-red hair whirling in the blizzard. Not that he could see either. He could barely see his hands where they curled in front of his face, clutching his tinderbox like a lifeline. He certainly couldn’t feel them, mittened though they were. He huddled, waiting for the cold to take him. He was so stupid; he saw that now. And now he was going to die. Alone. Far from those who’d made him their family. Yes, they’d quarrelled, but that didn’t matter any more. Nothing mattered any more.
